At its heart, Over the Years began with a question: Why do we, as humans, fear aging? From that seed grew a year-long journey where I served as Director and Creative Producer, leading a crew of 15 through every stage of production. Together, we explored themes like beauty, death, wisdom, relationships, and hobbies through the lens of age, interviewing people from ages 3 to 101 and capturing their stories across diverse locations and conditions.

The project required meticulous planning, scheduling, and coordination, powered by project management tools to keep every phase on track. From hands-on production—operating equipment, setting up lighting, and ensuring each shot met our creative standards—to post-production, where thousands of hours of footage were transformed into a cohesive narrative with assembly edits, color correction, sound design, and original music scoring, every step demanded collaboration and attention to detail.

Beyond the screen, I led promotional efforts—crafting social media campaigns, building anticipation with BTS content and sneak peeks, and designing marketing materials for both digital and out-of-home advertising. The result? Over the Years won 3 awards, was a finalist at 5 additional film festivals, and was selected for a total of 15 national and international festivals.

Over the Years wasn’t just a film—it was an exploration, a challenge, and a testament to the power of storytelling, leadership, and creative collaboration to foster connection and reflection.

Post-production for Over the Years was both challenging and rewarding. With over 500 hours of footage to work through, we knew we had to be organized. We started by meticulously transcribing and cataloging every interview, pulling out key sound bites and moments that spoke to the heart of our story.

From there, it was a matter of experimenting—rearranging and reshuffling the material until we found the right narrative flow. Once we locked the structure, we focused on the finer details: color grading to bring out the right mood, audio mixing to ensure clarity, foley work to add texture, and a custom soundtrack that brought the emotions to life.

We finished with graphics and animations that helped tie everything together, making sure every visual and audio element worked in harmony. It was a long, meticulous process, but in the end, we created a film that felt like it truly captured the essence of aging from every angle.

Countless stories, one compelling narrative.
